Shopping in Tirana

Shopping as a hobby is the newest Albanian import. In the last few years with an increase in the personal wealth of the population many new style shopping malls have started springing up both in the capital itself and its fringes. These have started becoming important gathering places for the locals who use the occasion of a day off for shopping, window shopping or simply having a coffee with friends. Most of the merchandise in the shops contained within this malls especially textiles and leather come from Italy and Greece. Apart from the shopping malls which are the most recent addition if you like a bargain than the open markets are what you are looking for. The “Tregu Cam” is the most noteworthy and it offers a variety of things from needles to personal or home decorating items.

QTU
A modern shopping mall about 6 km from Tirana on the highway Tirana-Durres with tens of shops including brand names such us Zara, Mexx etc. The mall offers a free shuttle bus from the centre of Tirana.

Casa Italia
A smaller shopping mall on the outskirts of the city offering several shops includine the Italian electronics super mall Trony, the Ikea style Danish superstore Jysk and the Italian supermarket Conad.

ETC
A shooping mall in the centre of the city with several boutiques and caffes worth a visit.

Twin Tower
A smaller shopping complex in the main boulevard offering mainly café and service outlets.
