Airport
Mother Theresa International Airport situated close to
Rinas village, is approximately 20 kilometres from Tirana and has
many direct flights from Europe. Main city connections include London,
Frankfurt, Milan, Rome, Vienna, Zurich, Athens, Belgrade, Bologna,
Budapest, Istanbul while airlines which fly to Tirana include: Alitalia,
Austrian, British Airways, Lufthansa, Malev, Olimpic, Turkish, Adria,
JAT, Belleair, Clubair, Albanian Airlines etc. The airport is given
with concession to a German-American company which has just built
a new passenger terminal and is planning an expansion by building
a second terminal as well as increasing the capacity of the landing
field.
Airport Shuttle
There is a bus service from the airport to the centre of
the capital every hour or so.
Taxis & Limusines
Airport taxis to the city centre start at 25 Euro. Taxis
within Tirana are reasonably priced at around 4-5 euro within 2
points in the city itself. Please note that the licensed taxis should
have yellow background and red numbers on their license plates.

Public Transport
Tirana is a compact city with most of the attraction and
entertainment venues located close therefore easily reachable on
foot. Buses are the only public mean of transport in Tirana. They
are used to connect the suburbs with the centre of Tirana. There
are not any timetables for this service but the buses are quite
frequent. Prices of tickets are also very reasonable.
Rent a car
Although driving in Tirana is not recommended, due to heavy traffic
and parking difficulties, car rental services are readily available
at Rinas Airport and in the city. However the available car fleets
of these companies in Tirana are not able to continuously cope with
the increasing demand especially in high season, therefore we strongly
advise that you book this service in advance.
